My flight has been delayed. Am I eligible for compensation?

According to the Flight Compensation Regulation, under EU Regulation 261/2004. If you have reached your final destination with a delay of over 3 hours, you are qualified to get compensation from €250 to €600. The delay should not be caused by extraordinary circumstances:

  • unfavorable weather conditions
  • strike
  • risk of act of terrorism

If the delay is over 2 hours, you are entitled to additional support from the airline:

  • free phone calls
  • free refreshments
  • free meals
  • free accommodation
  • free transfer to accommodation

My flight was cancelled. Am I eligible for compensation?

If your flight has been cancelled and you were informed in less than 14 days prior to departure, you are entitled to compensation.

  • the replacement flight delays your arrival by 2 or more hours
  • your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure

You’re legally entitled to get compensationif the cancellation is due to the airline’s fault and should not be a result of the following circumstances:

  • unfavorable weather conditions
  • strike
  • risk of act of terrorism

This is a common occurence since airlines rarely agree to compensate at once. Our team is very experienced in negotiations with the airlines and getting the compensation without going to court. In rare cases when an airline refuses to pay regardless, while having no legal reason to reject your claim, we may involve our partners and proceed with legal action.

Do I have to be a EU or Turkey citizen to be eligible for the compensation?

You are able to claim the compensation even if you not a citizen of the EU or Turkey. Your citizenship does not affect the probability of getting the compensation.

How long does it take to get compensation?

We try to get you your compensation as soon as possible. Some airlines respond in 2-3 days, some other - in 4-6 weeks. On average we ensure pre-court acceptance within first 8 weeks after claim submission. If court process is involved, the duration can reach 16-20 weeks.

Unfortunately, in some cases, it can take a while. We do everything that we possibly can to get your compensation quickly but there might be other external factors that are beyond our control. So if your case takes longer than predicted, please be patient and be assured that we are working on getting you your compensation.

Which countries and airlines fall under EU and Turkey regulation?

The EU regulation applies if:

  • The country of departure is the member of EU
  • The flight is operated by an airline registered in EU (as well as Iceland, Norway or Switzerland)

What if my flight disruption happened long ago?

You flight is still eligible for compensation if it was delayed or cancelled (or you were denied boarding) within the last 2-6 years (depending on the the route and the airline that operated the flight).

Who will get the compensation if the ticket was bought by the company I work for?

Regardless of who actually paid for the ticket, only passenger can be eligible for compensation.

What do I need to provide to apply for compensation?

  • Signed consent
  • Information about the flight and booking or ticket number

Can I have multiple companies working on my case at once?

You might consider using multiple companies to maximise your chances but enlisting multiple companies to work on your case will result in confusion with the airline. To ensure the success of your case, we advise you not to. This would decrease your chances to receive compensation and have you pay multiple success fees. Rest assured that we will find the best way for you to get your compensation.
